Do You Do Solar?

Here in southern California, where it is essentially just desert, there is really just one year-round season of late, warm and warmer.  With temperatures in the 70's and 80's for the last few months we realize that these warm temperatures will become the norm.  The drought is predicted to last a while, and the summer's have become unbearable.  So, the solar panels that my husband had put on our house last year have turned out to be one of the smartest decisions he made! (I really can't take any of the credit) We went from having an electric bill in the summer anywhere from $300 - $500 a month, to a bill that hovers around $1.50 - no kidding!  The bill I just got for February was $.86!!!!  The cost of the panels is based on the number of panels on the roof, and we have the maximum; our average cost is around $150 per month; far less than our bills used to be.  We generate almost enough to offset what we use, and can sell back the overage to Southern California Edison.  A GREAT idea if you live in a sunny climate!!
